There are a number of congenital diseases that can cause childhood glaucoma, and most of them affect the drainage system in the eye. Some of those who are the most common.

Familial hypoplasia

Familial hypoplasia occurs as a result of the iris are being developed and glaucoma occurs when the iris blocks the Nets in the face. Childhood glaucoma can occur when a child is born or shortly thereafter, although the age of 20 years to develop this type of childhood glaucoma is almost certain.

Axenfeld Syndrome

Axenfeld syndrome is another type of childhood glaucoma, the cornea has a number of missing or under-May, approximately one out of two of the Axenfeld syndrome with experience of developing symptoms of glaucoma, although it may not be properly diagnosed until adulthood. Glaucoma medication, and glaucoma medication could be used to treat disease later in life, while surgery can usually solve the problem at the start for babies.

Peters anomaly

Peters anomaly is relatively rare form of corneal defect of the cornea is very thin and a portion of the iris to join her. Because the disease occurs on a slope, not to satisfy all the cases, treatment of glaucoma, however, develop glaucoma in May at a relatively early age, and a cornea transplant in May required.

Sturgeon Weber syndrome

Stir Weber syndrome lack cells in the iris, in addition to the coroid and retina, glaucoma and child with this disease. After treatment with primary infantile glaucoma, a child in May to experience as they enter adulthood, requiring further surgery.

Neurofibromatosis

Neurofibromatosis is also known as the sick man elephant, and generally show freckles or pigmented areas that can occur anywhere in the body. A disturbed student in May of the iris can block drainage of the eye as the child develops. Tumors can also develop in the cranial nerves, can cause blindness if these ocular tumors are not removed.

Rieger anomaly

Rieger involves an abnormality of the cornea and immature scar that is formed between the iris and cornea. Not only the view is difficult, but to develop glaucoma in May because of the fluid, which requires the treatment of glaucoma.

Congenital rubella

Most children receive vaccines against rubella to prevent rubella occur. Of course, if the mother is infected, the disease can be transmitted to the child, causing serious injury to the eye veins, causing a condition similar to a primary infantile glaucoma.

Since the fluid in the eye can not drain properly, the cornea can be hidden and cataracts may be necessary to use glaucoma surgery.

Homocystinuria

Homocystinuria may cause problems due to metabolize certain amino acids. In this mode pupillary block occur in May in cash is not able to pressure the space between lines of iris, ultimately leading to accumulation of fluid behind the iris, glaucoma children require treatment.
